Aim

The aim of the Oil Spill Risk Evaluation Management course is to provide training  for operations that involve loading, unloading and handling oil in maritime and port environments: harbours, shipyards, oil rigs, ship scrapping operations, facilities that receive oil, and any other maritime facility under Spanish sovereignty, sovereign rights, or jurisdiction, whether operations are performed by fixed, mobile, or floating means.

Target audience

Training programme

Mod.1 Maritime accidents in transportation of oil. Hydrocarbon and chemical contamination. Techniques to fight against hydrocarbon and chemical contamination.

Assessment of pollution in port and coasts. Cleaning techniques in ports and coasts. Protection of sensitive areas.

Mod. 2 Respond systems and techniques. Use of different products. Procedure of use. Cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Effects of tides. Barrier connections. Equipment interconnection systems. Hazardous waste management

Encouraged participation of delegates with interaction by questioning, practical exercises, videos and simulations.

Delegates pre-requisites

No prerequisites are required, but delegate must be aged 18 or over to enrol onto this course.

Physical and stressful demands

Training activities may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. The Centre shall keep a record of the delegate’s/candidate’s declaration of fitness in accordance with their document control policy or procedures.
