About COurse

Aim

The aim of the Advanced Training for ships subject to IGF code is to provide seafarers with the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to carry out safe and effective operation of ships powered by fuels covered within the IGF Code.

Target audience

This course is designed to offers advanced training for Masters, engineer officers and all personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF code.

Mod. 1 Chemistry and physics
Mod. 2 Basic marine power plants
Mod. 3 IGF vessel equipment and operation
Mod. 4 Environment and emergency
Mod. 5 Hazard, risk assessment, rules & regulations and safe working practices

Delegates pre-requisites

Those undertaking this course must have completed the basic training for service on ships subject to the IGF Code or hold a basic or advanced gas tanker safety Endorsement

Physical and stressful demands

Training activities contained within the IMO standards may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. The Centre shall keep a record of the delegate’s/candidate’s declaration of fitness in accordance with their document control policy or procedures.
