Aim

The aim of the BST Working at Heights & Manual Handling Combined Module 5 is to provide delegates with a basic knowledge to use basic protection equipment and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights. Furthermore, to encourage positive manual handling and ergonomic behaviour, encourage delegates to consider alternatives to manual handling through planning and to train delegates ability to perform manual handling tasks in a safe manner in the wind turbine industry/environment.

This course is designed to meet the initial knowledge about working at heights and manual handling techniques and risks.

Physical and stressful demands

Training activities contained within the GWO standards may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. The Centre shall keep a record of the delegate’s/candidate’s declaration of fitness in accordance with their document control policy or procedures.
