Stier 20 years in the Canary Islands
On July 10, 2014 we celebrated our anniversary to share with a lot of friends, clients and suppliers our first 20 years in the Canary Islands. The celebration began in the Port Authority with its Chairman, Mr Luis Ibarra Betancort, opening speech, Conference ‘Off-Shore Market: What´s on?’ by Christian Kelly and Helen Forster from the Osprey Underwriting Agency of London.
After the conference, the guests and Authorities enjoyed a cocktail-party which took place at TAO GARDEN where the Honourable Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Mr Juan José Cardona, gave an emotional speech to congratulate Ida Stier & Grupo Stier business career.
Although it seems just yesterday, it’s a long way since Spring ’89 when a young woman (born in Egypt and raised in Madrid, London and Geneva) landed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria wishing to develop her professional career. Twenty five years after, the now middle aged lady called Ida Stier is leading a solid group of companies specialised in the shipping business, maritime insurance field and the maritime training center CEMA (Centro de Estudios Maritimos del Atlántico).
We would like to thank everyone for coming to our event. We thank the attendees and those who couldn’t attend for your words of support and for your friendliness during the ceremony and in our life. We promised you that we shall continue for at least another twenty years. Thank you for being here and reading these lines!
